Oct 2, 2006, 18:32 GMT
Lusaka - Zambian leader Levy Mwanawasa has won the country's 2006 general election by a landslide, the country's electoral body announced late Monday.
The announcement was made in Lusaka, the scene of earlier clashes between opposition supporters and police and soldiers over allegations of vote rigging amid slow counting.
Secretary to the cabinet Joshua Kanganja on Monday said the presidential inauguration ceremony will take place early Tuesday.
