Two British tourists robbed, stabbed in South Africa
Dec 22, 2006, 17:45 GMT
Johannesburg - Two British tourists were robbed and stabbed on South Africa's Table Mountain Friday, Western Cape police said.
Two men armed with knives ordered the couple, both aged 55, to hand over their belongings, Sapa news agency quoted spokeswoman Inspector Bernadine Steyn as saying.
'A struggle occurred and the man was stabbed twice in the back, the woman once in the shoulder,' she added. The couple were said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
A suspect was arrested in Rondebosch shortly after the incident, Steyn said.
It was reported Friday that couples and single people would not be allowed to visit Table Mountain after 10pm during the festive season in the interests of their safety.

How's that workin so far?
'...watch South Africa self destruct as criminals and gangsters take over...'
Well, part of the problem seems to be the difficulty in extending post-apartheid law enforcement across an entire country when the police structure was originally set up only to protect whites.

Typical the world wanted to free Mandela, now they all sit back and watch South Africa self destruct as criminals and gangsters take over South Africa. South Africa is just going the same way as Zimbabwe and sooner or later we will have this once prosperous country begging for food and money just like the rest of Africa. I guess they all going to blame it on colonialism when they can't run the country themselves.
