The photo heading this article , 'AC-130, like the one pictured ' ' dropping flares '
The vast majority of AC-130 aircraft are ' transport ' aircraft not ' gunships ' . Hundreds of them doing nothing more than delivering humanitarian aid are fired at , flares are simply a defense .
Excuse it , justify it , you can not deny ' we ' are fighting Genocidal Facist Lunatics . Again . As usual .
We can not rely on the gutless coward Europeans who restrict thier pathetically small ' contribution ' to only ' safe areas ' (look it up)

Remember what happened when British Troops dared venture in Iraq Hot Zones ???
Non-stop daily combat , the only way the Brits saved thier own Butts was to run away . Run and hope they kill others and not you ? Or stand up ?

when it comes to oil politiks are deceivingJan 10th, 2007 - 03:35:39

excerpt 'On the Trail of a Lion' Chap 9 pg 99:

'... former US Special Ambassador to Somalia, Robert Oakley. Oakley led the US military intervention in Somalia back in 1992, deceivingly named Operation Restore Hope. ConocoPhillips is a huge integrated energy company involved in oil exploration and refining. Somalia possesses more than enough oil wealth to interest the US. It is also strategically located on the Horn of Africa, one of the few deep-water pivot points for international shipping lanes. The Horn of Africa controls access to the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. For a variety of reasons, the Pentagon would love to build a permanent base in Somalia.
When political meddling in African affairs blew up in his face, Oakley migrated to Islamabad, Pakistan. It would seem likely he was favourably disposed towards a Taliban rise to power.' ...

SalBuie if your gonna post can you at least make it rational. UK troops are main line in hot zone of Afghanistan, its the French (as usual) and the Germans who refuse to take a combat role. Also Canada has a very large contingent thats involved in heavy fighting. Interestingly it was US Gen Shwarzkof that would not allow US forces behind the line in Gulf War 1 until the Brits showed him how to do it. UK gave US the technology to build the Abrams armor, otherwise you guys would still be rolling round in M60's, and a lot of us are beginning to think it was a mistake.
