Algiers - Six suspected Islamist terrorists were killed by security forces in clashes in two separate clashes in Algeria, the country's media reported Saturday.
An Algerian soldier was also killed in the fighting which took place Friday near Tizi Ouzou, 115 kilometres east of Algiers, and in Saida, 440 kilometres further south-west.
Meanwhile, one policeman was killed and two others wounded in a bomb attack in the town of Jijel.
Algerian forces have been in continual conflict with Salafist terrorists, who are part to the al-Qaeda terrorist network.
