South Africa to allow Zimbabweans 90-day visa-free residence

Johannesburg - South Africa is to allow Zimbabweans to enter and remain in the country for 90 days wihout a visa in reaction to wave of people entering South Africa already from its troubled neighbour, local private broadcaster e-tv reported Monday.
Between 2 and 3 million Zimbabweans are estimated to have fled Zimbabwe's hunger and political instability for South Africa. Many of those who have entered South Africa have done so illegally.
