South African dad drives over, kills his two children

Johannesburg - A South African father accidentally drove over and killed both his children, Beeld newspaper reported Tuesday.
The tragic accident occurred as the man, identified as Jan-Hendrik van der Merwe, was driving with his four-year-old daughter and one- year-old baby boy on their farm in Western Cape province.
The children were sitting in the front of the 4x4 vehicle, police said.
'They were driving on a gravel road on the farm and there was a bend to the left in the road. One of the children presumably opened the door,' a police spokesman was quoted as saying.
The children fell out of the vehicle and landed underneath.
They were the couple's only children.
