Two peacekeepers kidnapped in Darfur

Nairobi/Khartoum - Two civilian staff members of the United Nations and African Union peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID) have been kidnapped in the westeren part of the region, officials said Saturday.
A UNAMID spokesman said armed men had opened fire on a mission quarters in the city of Zalingei in the early hours and then took away the two staffers, a man and a woman.
The spokesman did not disclose their nationalities in what has become the first instance of UNAMID members being seized in Darfur.
