Big ball to get people in tune for 2010 World Cup

Johannesburg - The South African state telecommunications company Telkom has assured itself of a place in the Guiness Book of World Records.
In a statement quoted by South African media on Thursday the company said that the football built on top of a tower in Pretoria weighed 50 tons and was 24 metres across and eight stories heigh.
The company said the ball, which had been built in anticipation for the 2010 World Cup, which the country will host, had been recognised officially as 'the largest football structure' in the world.
