Somali pirates free Pakistani fishing vessel
Jan 5, 2010, 10:04 GMT
London - Somali pirates have freed a Pakistani fishing vessel hijacked last month, the EU anti-piracy operation Atalanta said Tuesday.
The pirates abandoned the Shahbaig and its 29-member crew after using the vessel to launch an attack on a car transporter, an Atalanta spokesman said in Northwood, England.
The spokesman said the crew were all in good shape, except for one man who suffered a broken leg.
The vessel, which was seized December 6, was able to continue its journey to Pakistan.
At least 11 ships with 270 crewmen remain in the hands of Somali pirates.
