Apr 3, 2010, 23:07 GMT
Johannesburg - South African white rightwing leader Eugene Terreblanche was beaten to death Saturday, the BBC reported quoting local media.
Terreblanche, 69, was killed on his farm in Ventersdorp in the north-west of the country, the report said.
The charismatic leader of the Afrikaner Weerstands Beweging (Afrikaner Resistance Movement) was asleep and alone on the farm at the time of the attack, the local News24 website said.
Coming into prominence in the 1980s, Terreblanche championed the minority that was opposed to the end of apartheid, the BBC reported.
