Reports: SAFA know nothing about friendly against Sweden
Jan 6, 2011, 14:45 GMT
Johannesburg - The chief executive officer of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Leslie Sedibe, on Thursday told South African media that they had not arranged a friendly against Sweden.
The Swedish FA and fifa.com had earlier in the week reported that the Europeans would be travelling to Africa to play two friendlies against Botswana and South Africa in January.
They said the game against South Africa would be played in the Mbombela World Cup stadium in Nelspruit.
'That's irresponsible by someone from that website. I want to make it clear that we will not be playing Sweden in any friendly this month,' Sedibe is quoted as saying.
'We will put out a press release later today informing the public that we will not be playing any game against Sweden as we have not arranged a friendly against them.'
