Protesters shoot down helicopter, opposition claims (Extra)
Feb 28, 2011, 11:24 GMT
Cairo - Pro-democracy protesters have shot down a helicopter and captured its crew in Libya's third largest city Misurata, an opposition group said Monday.
The Libyan Youth Movement said online that protesters in Misurata shot down the helicopter one day after government troops and security loyal to leader Moamer Gaddafi were forced to leave the city, around 200 kilometres east of the capital Tripoli, after protesters gained control.
Reports said that at least 23 people were killed last week when Gaddafi's security forces attacked the city's airport.
