Sudanese vice president visits post-Gaddafi Libya
Sep 29, 2011, 13:30 GMT
Cairo - North Sudan Vice President Ali Osman Taha visited Tripoli on Thursday - the first such official visit to Libya since the fall of Moammer Gaddafi's regime in late August.
Taha, who was leading a high-level delegation, planned to meet with the head of the Libyan rebels' Transitional National Council.
Tensions between the two neighbouring countries were long strained over Gaddafi's alleged support for rebels in the western Sudanese province of Darfur.
