Monrovia/Accra - Police in the Ghanaian capital Accra have seized weapons in a truck heading to Nigeria, local media reported on Wednesday.
The truck, branded with Coca-Cola advertising, was intercepted in Accra on Tuesday, following an anonymous tip-off. The arms included double-barreled guns and cartridges, a police source told the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.
Five men, including two Nigerians, are in police custody.
Accra lies some 460 kilometres west of the Nigeria capital Lagos on the Gulf of Guinea along the west coast of Africa. Nigeria has in recent weeks been gripped by a wave of sectarian violence.
