Four killed as Gaddafi loyalists attack Bani Walid town
Jan 23, 2012, 15:25 GMT
Cairo - Moamer Gaddafi loyalists were blamed Monday for the death of four fighters in the Libyan town of Bani Walid, broadcaster Al Arabiya reported Monday.
Forces loyal to the former leader reportedly took control of the town, which is located south-east of the capital Tripoli.
Bani Walid was one of the last bastions of followers of the late ruler. The capture of the town followed the killing of Gaddafi in his hometown of Sirte in October.
The latest attack came two days after dozens of Libyans stormed the ruling National Transitional Council's headquarters, in the eastern city of Benghazi, in protest at the perceived slow pace of reform after the end of the armed struggle against Gaddafi.
