Jan 29, 2012, 10:44 GMT
Mogadishu - Hundreds of mourners turned out Sunday for the funeral of respected Somalian journalist Hassan Osman Abdi, murdered by unknown gunmen in the capital, Mogadishu, the previous day.
Abdi - also known by his nickname 'Fantastic' - was the director of the Shabelle Media Network.
According to witnesses, he was killed in the Madina district on Saturday by two men with pistols who ambushed him outside his front gate.
He was the third managing director of the Shabelle network to be murdered in the past five years.
Several hundred tearful mourners, including journalists and aid workers, attended the funeral of Abdi - a 30-year old father of three.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the killing. Somalia is one of the most dangerous country in the world for journalists.
