After decades of wild economic liberalism imposed by 'any means' from Washington the lower and middle class in Latin America have figured out that is not in their best interest to support any USA-supported government. Plenty of people find Chávez too colorful and a little - well - nuts, but most Venezuelans are not going to be worse under him than they were under other governments. Latin America is in frank rebellion against Washington and people like demagog like Chavez have figured out that insulting Bush is a sure way to get elected, these days. That's how pathetic American foreign policy has become. It's going to take a long time to win back the good will of their neighbors to the South. With Venezuela lost the next challenge for the @#!%@#$ USA administration is going to be - of course - Cuba. Let's hope that Bush and his lunatic friends are out of Washington when Castro dies and some minimally intelligent are in the White House when that happens.
A few facts that don't seem to be represented here are ...
1. USA dosnt give a damn about what Chavez postures and barks about, last year was a record for trade between the two countries and this year is gonna beat it again.
2. Chevez dosnt give a damn about the US he's just using it as a boogie man for simple people who don't understand politics and power.
3. US is not about to attack Venezula and never was and Chavez knows this.
Try reading 1984 its like a blue print for Chavez, Ahmanidinijad, little Kim and a host of others. I hazzard to guess that a few years from now there will be no opposition TV or newspapers, he will change the law so that he can remain in power for life, dissedents will begin to dissapear and he will still be posturing about the 'evil capatalists'. To the Venezulans who support this man i would like to say that you don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve.
Someone please tell that naughty Venezuelan, that you must not disturb King George... and that he has enough already with being disturbed himself, without another rebel whose only dream in life is to oppose the USA's generous and benevolent administration... how dare the man be so unruly !! tut tut... He wakes up every morning thinking 'how can I opset america today !', I am sure he has no other preoccupation on his mind... as do all the world's unruly leaders... because their objective number 1 (in fact, their ONLY objective) is to do just that. Upset the White House administration for all the goodness it brings to our planet, now a much safer place thanks to them (hey, don't look at me like that... you have read the free press haven't ya !!?). Simply outrageous. Glad that fromSpain and herenow can discern the truth from the halfbaked stuff... although, credit given where's credit is due: it is also partly down to the high level of journalism and TV information in the free western world that they have the ability to do this... in a way in which the venezuelans never will if things continue in this way... send Murdoch, quick... long live the free western press, a real example of how you can outsource the truth and privatize a democracy and make the world a better place... fighter pilot Georgy boy is the 'couilles du chien' of all world leaders, and nobody (not even himself) realises it !! GO GEORGY GO, BOMB'EM UNRULY MOVAS !!
The damned gringos should sweep in front of their own door, instead of meddling in the affairs of other nations. Chavez is correct in damning the U.S. at every turn -- it's well deserved for over two centuries of exploitation by the U.S. plutocracy.
Strangely, the U.S. goons just don't get the messages transmitted from all over the world: 'mind your own business, there's lots of work to be done in the U.S.'
It seems that U.S. Americans view it as a 'birthright', to mess around in the rest of the world and to tell other countries, what they should and shouldn't do. But when other nations respond in kind, the hypocrits in any U.S. administration are quick to point out that no one can lecture the U.S.
One thing is certain, the days of American-inspired crises -- requiring American arms and weapons systems to 'solve' these crises -- are slowly coming to an end. The world as a whole becomes multi-polar again and is getting smarter in containing U.S.-America's arrogance of power.
If the yankees don't watch it and don't change their ways, the U.S. will be a 'has-been'!
It would be best if U.S. Americans would use all their weapons on themselves -- that would be a breakthrough for world peace!
The above poster is furious with the USA after being told to get his loser ass out of our country. It hasn't dawned on him that his miserable personality and lousy character were what did him in here. At this point all he can do is get on the internet and vent his impotent rage at the country that quite correctly rejected him.
Now he wishes for socialism to provide him with the living that he couldn't provide for himself. Pathetic.
