Seven alleged drug-violence victims found in mass grave in Mexico
Jan 5, 2007, 23:19 GMT
Mexico City - A grave holding seven bodies that were apparent victims of drug violence was found by police in the western state of Michoacan, authorities said Friday.
Digging began Thursday at the site, in the town of Uruapan in the southern party of the state, but the bodies were found the following day, said Magdalena Guzman, spokeswoman for the state's general attorney's office.
Six people were reportedly arrested in the case, she said.
The authorities did not provide details about the gender or ages of the victims, or about the way they were killed.
A joint operation by the army, the navy, the police and the general attorney's office has targeted the drug trade in Michoacan since December 22.
