Earthquake shakes Colombia-Panama border

Bogota - An earthquake measuring 5.1 to 5.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit northwest Colombia Saturday on the border with Panama, geologists in Colombia and the United States said.
The state Colombian Institute of Geology and Mining put the strength at 5.1 degrees, while the US Geological Survey estimated 5.9.
There were no reports of injuries or material damage.
The quake hit about 179 kilometres west-north-west of Buenaventura, Colombia, according to the USGS website.
US officials said the quake hit at the depth of about 10 kilometres at about 2243 GMT.
