Thieves steal helicopter, leave pilot stranded
Jul 2, 2007, 21:19 GMT
Mexico City - Three people stole a helicopter on Monday in Mexico when the machine landed in the state of Hidalgo, near the Mexican capital, to pick up the alleged thieves, Mexico City police said.
Eduardo Merito, the pilot of the rented Bell 206, said he went to the location where his contract said he was to meet a group of photographers hoping to take aerial shots.
Merito said the three people threatened him with a gun and asked him to leave the helicopter. They then took the machine and left him stranded.
Police still did not know the whereabouts of the stolen helicopter. The incident reportedly occurred at 9:30 am (1530 GMT).
