Rio de Janeiro - At least 99 people died in Brazil's federal road network between Friday and Tuesday, over the traditional festivities to welcome the New Year.
Brazilian road police said Wednesday that the South American country's roads witnessed 1,738 accidents. The figure is some 32.1 per cent less than its Christmas equivalent (December 21-25), when 196 people died.
