zimbabwe sounds more like it. chavez idealism is already hurting his country.
One way or another Chavez and those in power will stay in charge indefinitely and there is nothing the people will be able to do about it. Sometimes your last democratic vote is your last democratic vote.
In other words, you have freely voted to enslave yourselves.
if his 'glorious revolution' is so great why doesn't he have a willing follower to take his place? Is there no one else that could carry on the cause? Even Putin in Russia found a way to keep it going without a referendum and his ideology can be a little shady. That says a lot about Chavez and the fact that he knows he'll go under if he has to be replaced. and with oil prices dropping so low taking away his wealth it could happen soon enough anyway.
