Mar 1, 2009, 2:54 GMT
Managua, Nicaragua - Numerous injuries were reported Saturday in Managua and the provincial cities of Leon and Chinandega amid violent clashes between opposition demonstrators and supporters of Nicaragua's left-wing government.
Marches were organized in at least nine cities against 'hunger and dictatorship.'
Elected Sandinista President Daniel Ortega mobilized his supporters against the marchers, who were pelted with stones.
