EU says it backs mediation efforts in Honduras

Jul 21, 2009, 18:10 GMT

Stockholm - The European Union Tuesday expressed its backing for mediation efforts conducted by Costa Rica's President Oscar Arias to 'facilitate a peaceful negotiated solution to the political crisis in Honduras.'

The EU urged the parties 'to do their outmost to reach a swift resolution to the crisis' and 'refrain from any action that might result in increasing tension and violence.'

Sweden, which on July 1 assumed the rotating presidency of the 27- nation bloc, issued the statement on behalf of the EU.

While efforts to reach a solution in Honduras continued, the EU would 'continue to restrict contacts at political level with representatives of the de facto government' and member states were to halt bilateral development co-operation with the exception of humanitarian assistance and emergency relief.

Arias over the weekend proposed a seven-point plan that includes the formation of a national reconciliation government under ousted President Manuel Zelaya.

What 'de facto' government? It seems the mainstream media all over the world just repeats the propaganda from Castro/Chavez!

The was NO coup in Honduras and Micheletti’s is NOT a de facto government. It’s a de jure (“in law”) government, based on Honduran law.

Zelaya behaved illegally for months, trampling on the Honduran Constitution. After the Honduran Congress considered Zelaya’s crimes, the country's Supreme Court ordered the military to remove Zelaya and elevate the person next in line under the Honduras Constitution. This is Constitutional Democracy in action combating illegal behavior by a sitting President.

Millions Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, Bolivians, Ecuadorians, etc. wish we could have done what Hondurans are doing before the Marxist thugs working for Castro and Chavez enslaved our countries like Zelaya is trying to enslave Honduras.

Wiser than other Latin Americans, Hondurans have laws that defend them from the fraudulent scheme devised by Castro to impose Marxism with “democratic” elections and referendums. Hondurans have seen this scheme unfold in the countries being destroyed by the Marxist thugs controlled by Castro/Chavez. They don’t want the tragedy of those countries repeated in Honduras. They would rather be isolated for a few years than enslaved for more than 50 like the Cubans!

Castro’s scheme, through which Chavez, Morales, Correa, etc. have enslaved their countries works along these lines:

1. Select a wannabe dictator -- a “charismatic” and depraved megalomaniac who is ready to sell out his country (like Chavez, Morales, Correa, Zelaya). Help him run for president of the country.

2. Invest millions in a “professional” campaign demonizing the opposition and promising CHANGE to help the poor, end corruption, improve schools… whatever people want to hear.

3. Commit as much fraud as possible to make sure the wannabe dictator wins.

4. Have “protectors of human rights” like Insulza (OAS) -- who have really been trampling on human rights by promoting communism for years -- declare that the elections were “legal and transparent.”

5. Make sure that, once in power, the wannabe dictator takes over the Legislative and Judicial branches of power; destroys the business community, the economy and the country’s institutions; intimidates and controls the media; and demonizes, intimidates and even kills anyone trying to defend the country.

6. Have a referendum to approve a new constitution. Representatives of the people are supposed to write that constitution. In reality, people don’t even know what’s in the new constitution, which is written by Spaniards working for Castro/Chavez before the wannabe dictator even “runs” for office.

7. Have Insulza (OAS) and others who pretend to “protect human rights” declare that the referendum is perfectly “legal and transparent.” Carter also does this dirty job.

The goal of the new constitution is to help the wannabe dictator become a full-blown dictator for life (like Castro in Cuba), prevent people from defending themselves, and use the country to help drug cartels, Islamic terrorists, etc. to destroy the U.S. And all of it under the cloak of “democracy”!

Hondurans were able to save themselves from the clutches of Chavez because Zelaya had not yet been able to take control of the Legislative and Judicial branches of power.

Congratulations, Hondurans! Many of us wish we could have done what you are doing before the Marxist thugs working for Castro and Chavez enslaved our countries.

We hope Hondurans can defend themselves from Chavez/Zelaya/Obama now working under the sheep's clothing of Oscar Arias.

Rather than defending the rule of law and the human rights of Hondurans and Latin Americans, the Obama administration is siding with the Marxist thugs who are trampling on human rights and working with drug cartels and Islamic terrorist to destroy the U.S!

In agreement with Obama’s policy of hurting our friends and helping our enemies, Clinton handed democratic Hondurans a poisoned apple -- Oscar Arias as a mediator.

Arias’s recommendation that a criminal thug like Zelaya be reinstated in Honduras is insulting and despicable to any honest and law-abiding human being!

But it was to be expected from Oscar Arias, who PRETENDS to support peace, but has never really defended peace.

Arias helped Chavez/Ortega enslave Nicaraguans. Ronald Reagan wanted the Sandinistas and their leader Daniel Ortega vanquished. But Arias got the Sandinistas to “agree to hold internationally supervised elections”. And we can see the results now -- Nicaragua is now enslaved by Castro/Chavez/Ortega.

Oscar Arias is the perfect example of how the Nobel Prize, which has been politicized, is biased and corrupt. It’s seldom if ever awarded to the really deserving, like Pope John Paul II. It is often awarded to people who can be used by the forces of evil to manipulate public opinion, as it’s happening now with Oscar Arias regarding Honduras.

Oscar Arias has NOT advanced and will NOT advance the cause of peace. On the contrary, as we can see in Honduras, Arias is doing the opposite – he is helping the forces of violence and evil – Castro, Chávez and Zelaya – trample on the law and on the human rights of the Honduran people.

Everything the other commentor, Anthony said is generally true. Also, when searching the Presidential house, large trash bags of money were found. Zelaya and his family are alleged to have taken over 200,000 dollars in public money from the Honduran people, plus drug money for letting narco planes land in Toncontin every night from Venezuela. Chavez has financed his campaign, and paid the protestors you see now in the streets, as well as suppling Venezuelan and Nicaraguan activists to incite the people.
Also, they found computers with the 'results' of the poll Zelaya was planning to hold on Sunday June 28th, but never took place, thanks to the Judicial and legislative branches and the military.
I am dumbfounded at the support of Obama and Clinton, as well as the press, and the world for Zelaya. The people of Honduras don't want him.
Viva Honduras! May your brave people prevail against this evil chavista empire. My prayers are with you.
Listen world! wake up

Lo siento. I left off a few zeroes. It was over 200 million dollars, $200,000,000 that they took. At least.

And Antonio, sorry I got your name wrong. Thanks for getting the story out.
