Ousted Honduran leader in Mexico for start of diplomatic offensive
Aug 4, 2009, 14:32 GMT
Mexico City - Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya arrived Tuesday in Mexico City for a meeting with President Felipe Calderon, as part of his diplomatic offensive to regain office.
'Mexico is the big brother of all of Central America,' Zelaya said, adding that he believed 'Mexico's opinion carries weight throughout Latin America.'
Zelaya was overthrown in a bloodless military coup and forced into exile on June 28 after he made moves to change the constitution to allow him to run for an additional term.
He is next scheduled to travel to Brazil.
