No damage as quake measuring 6.2 on Richter scale shakes Mexico

Mexico City - A quake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale shook Mexico's western coast Thursday but caused no damage, Civil Protection authorities said in the state of Jalisco.
'It was only felt in the town of Tuxcacuesco, where we have been told there was no damage,' a Jalisco Civil Protection spokesman said. 'In the rest of the state it was not felt.'
The quake happened at 2:16 am (0716 GMT) and had its epicentre in the Pacific Ocean, 347 kilometres southwest of the coastal town of Cihuatlan.
