Oct 27, 2009, 17:08 GMT
Mexico City - Four police officers in the eastern Mexican state of Puebla were killed by unidentified attackers Tuesday when they were taking part in a raid in the municipality of San Andres Cholula, south of state capital Puebla.
The State Attorney General's office said the police officers responded to a call for help and were shot at by attackers who were travelling in a vehicle and managed to escape.
The killers were allegedly chasing the person who made the initial call to police, who was travelling in another vehicle.
More than 5,500 people have been killed in drug-related violence in Mexico so far this year.
