Vancouver police arrest 14 gang members ahead of Olympics
Feb 4, 2010, 14:46 GMT
Vancouver - Nine days before the start of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, police in the western Canadian city said Wednesday they had arrested 14 gang members.
The gang members, including a prominent leader, were arrested on drug and weapons charges, officials said.
Mayor Gregor Robertson said the timing of the arrests shortly before the world arrives for the games was good, but that the investigation against the gang members had been ongoing for years.
