Nine killed in Brazil train-bus crash
Sep 9, 2010, 18:33 GMT
Sao Paulo - Brazil police were Thursday investigating a collision between a bus and freight train in which nine people were killed.
All nine victims were passengers on the bus that crashed into a freight train near the town of Americana, in the southern state of Sao Paulo, late Wednesday.
Six of the 30 bus passengers died on the spot, the fire department said Thursday. Two other people died on their way to hospital, while another died early Thursday. Five of the 15 injured passengers were stated to be in serious condition.
Police lieutenant Silvio Dias told the G1 news website that the most likely cause of the crash was an error on the part of the bus driver.
