Lightning kills 4 soldiers, injures 9 in Colombia

Bogota - Four Colombian soldiers died and nine others were injured Thursday when they were struck by lightning in northeastern Colombia, the authorities said.
The incident happened in a rural area of the municipality of Teorama, in the Norte de Santander region, where the soldiers were on a routine patrol despite the heavy rain.
The Army said the nine injured were taken to hospitals in the cities of Cucuta and Ocana.
