Cruzeiro sack Joel Santana as coach
Sep 2, 2011, 17:15 GMT
Rio de Janeiro - Former South Africa manager Joel Santana was sacked Friday as coach of Brazilian club Cruzeiro, after just three months on the job.
The veteran Santana, 62, coached South Africa in 2008-2009, but was replaced by fellow-Brazilian Carlos Alberto Parreira to lead the host in the 2010 World Cup.
Cruzeiro lost 4-2 to Fluminense Wednesday in its seventh defeat in the Brazilian championship, which prompted Santana's dismissal. He had been hired on June 19.
