It's a girl: baby delivered in Mexican subway
Oct 19, 2011, 18:44 GMT
Mexico City - A woman gave birth Tuesday in a Mexico City metro station.
The woman, identified by Mexican media only as 'Sebastiana' delivered a girl in Balderas station in the capital's center, assisted by three police officers and a security guard.
The woman's husband, Emiliano, who himself works in security, said the officers fared well in performing a role that was not part of their daily routine.
'My police colleagues did the right thing,' he said. 'That's the way it should be, they have to take care of everything that needs taking care of.'
After the birth, mother and baby were brought to a hospital. Five babies have been born in Mexico City's subway system so far this year.
