Police chief and 11-year-old son killed in Mexico

Mexico City - A municipal police commander and his 11-year-old son were shot dead Monday in the northern Mexican city of Saltillo, the authorities of the state of Coahuila said.
The attack happened in the early hours, when a group of unidentified attackers shot at the car carrying the police official and his son.
At least 45,000 people have been killed in Mexico over the past five years in violence linked to organized crime.
