Argentina's president begins second term
Dec 10, 2011, 22:56 GMT
Buenos Aires - Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner began her second term in office Saturday as she was sworn in before Congress and fellow presidents from across Latin America.
Kirchner, 58, won re-election for a second four-year term in a landslide in October. She has vowed to continue her human rights and economic policies.
One year after the sudden death of her husband and predecessor, Nestor Kirchner, the president appeared in black before the parliament and invoked the legacy of her deceased husband, who led the country from 2003-07.
