Thirteen bodies found in truck in north-eastern Mexico
Dec 26, 2011, 17:26 GMT
Mexico City - The bodies of 13 people were found in a truck that had been abandoned in the north-eastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, local officials said Monday.
In the truck, which was found Sunday, were messages that referred to the rivalry between criminal gangs, the authorities said. The vehicle had licence plates from the nearby state of Veracruz, where 10 bodies were recently found and where a series of attacks on public transport buses killed 16 people last week.
More than 45,000 people have been killed in Mexico in the past five years in incidents linked to organized crime.
