Rio de Janeiro - HSBC Brasil on Thursday became the fourth Brazilian bank this to suffer an attack by hackers on its website.
Since Monday, hackers who identify themselves as part of the group known as Anonymous, have also attacked the banks Itau, Bradesco and Banco do Brasil.
'One of the world's biggest banks is adrift. HSBC, TANGO DOWN,' the hackers said through the Twitter account PlanAnonBrasil.
When asked by Brazilian media, HSBC did not confirm the attack but said only that its website, www.hsbc.com.br, had 'an access volume that was greater than expected' on Thursday.
