Feb 22, 2012, 15:31 GMT
Buenos Aires - Several people were killed and more than 550 were injured Wednesday when a suburban train derailed at a station in central Buenos Aires.
'There were people killed, more than 550 injured and there are still people trapped in the cars,' Alberto Crescenti, head of the city's emergency health services, told reporters three hours after the accident.
Argentine daily Clarin reported that 19 bodies were removed from the site, although this was not immediately confirmed by the authorities.
Crescenti said around 30 people remained trapped inside the train.
