Recent picture made available by the International Red Cross some of the devastation caused by Cyclone Nargis in the delta region of Myanmar. Estimates indicate that 95% of some villages in the affected regions were destroyed. According to the Myanmar military junta's latest figures, the Nargis cyclone which hit the country with extreme winds and a tidal surge claimed 22,997 lives, left 42,119 missing and 1,403 injured as other sources claim the real death toll is closer to 100,000.
