Taiwan wife punishes husband with suicide in water tower
Sep 4, 2006, 6:42 GMT
Taipei - A Taiwanese woman found a cruel way to punish her husband - by committing suicide in the family's water tower, thereby making him drink water polluted by her dead body.
Kung Peng-yu, 55, often fought with her 80-year-old husband, complaining he did not give her enough money, the Apple Daily reported Monday.
On Friday, Peng left their three-storey apartment building in Fengshan, southern Taiwan, after another quarrel and told her husband 'You will never see me again!'
Saturday night Peng's husband noticed the water looked pink and stank and called his son to check the water tower. On the rooftop he found an empty rice wine bottle and two empty sleeping pill bottles beside the water tank. Inside the water tank he found his mother's corpse.
Police concluded that Peng committed suicide in such a way because last month a man drowned in a rooftop water tank of his apartment building in Yungho near Taipei. Some 200 residents of the apartment building drank the corpse-polluted water for three days before his body was discovered.
