Apr 2, 2007, 8:31 GMT
Beijing - A Chinese tour guide slashed 20 people with a knife following a row with another guide in the popular tourist town of Lijiang in the south-western province of Yunnan, state media said on Monday.
Two of the 20 injured people were in serious condition at a local hospital after the attack by 25-year-old Xu Minchao on Sunday afternoon, the semi-official China News Service said.
Xu, from the north-eastern province of Heilongjiang, was showing a group of 40 tourists around the famous old section of Lijiang when he pulled out his knife during an argument with the local guide.
He injured 15 Chinese tourists and five other people, most of whom were guides.
Police arrested Xu immediately after his rampage, the agency said.
