Bogus Hong Kong bomber fined for threats to US consulate and Disney

Hong Kong - A man who posted online threats to blow up the US consulate and Disneyland theme park in Hong Kong was Friday fined and ordered to do community service. Hairdresser Lo Kam-lok, 22, was convicted of making a bomb threat and wasting police time after posting the threats on an online forum using the name 'Hezbollah terrorist.' Lo asked for advice on bomb-making in his message last August and received 19 replies over the following month, including one which contained a bomb-making recipe, his court case was told. When the message was reported to police, Disneyland was forced to mount a search and stepped up security at its 3.5-billion-dollar Hong Kong theme park. Police mounted an investigation that took 213 man hours and cost 32,500 Hong Kong dollars (4,160 US dollars) before arresting Lo at his home in Hong Kong's Kowloon Bay district. Lo admitted wasting police time and leaving a threatening message at an earlier hearing.
