Thailand not hot enough for Al Gore
Jul 26, 2007, 4:47 GMT
Bangkok - Former US vice president Al Gore has canceled a scheduled appearance in Bangkok next month to talk on global warming, citing a heavy workload, news reports said Thursday.
Gore, who earlier this year won an Oscar for his documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, had accepted an invitation from the regional business grouping Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC) to give a dinner talk on global warming in Bangkok on August 8.
He has canceled the engagement 'due to workload,' said the Bangkok Post online news service.
Thailand in 2003 ranked as the world's 10th highest emitter of carbon dioxide, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
