Malaysia says Western nations misunderstand Islam
Sep 28, 2007, 15:16 GMT
New York - Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi called Friday for increasing dialogue to repair misunderstandings by the West about Islam.
'The main cause is the misperception in the West that Islam promotes exclusively and encourages extremism,' Badawi said in an address to the UN General Assembly.
He said action should be taken to generate 'greater understanding' between civilizations and cultures and dialogue to establish 'the truth that Islam is a religion which espouses universalism, not exclusivity, and tolerance, not bigotry.'
He said religion cannot be blamed for what he called the existing disputes among nations.
Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the United States and subsequent attacks in London, Madrid and Bali, Islamic groups and governments have campaigned to change the perception that terrorists were inciting Muslims to fight the West.

why doesn't he start by preventing muslim law to rule non muslims in Malaysia and accept that apostates can change religion.
Why are catholics girls forced to wear the vail in public schools ?
Why are indus temples and churchs destroyed ?
Once again an example of typical takkya.
RECIPROCITY FIRST: if muslim nations allow freedom of religion and of conscience then maybe we may initially start to believe something as changed
Show me where is freedom of religion in Malaysia.
What a joke.
We are not stupid.

Question:How can you tell when a muslim is lying?
Answer: Its lips are moving.
I say to Prime Minister Badawi keep you muslim taqqiyah to yourself. I've seen enough acts commited by the 'peace loving' adherants to Islam to know when a load of bullsh*t is being shovelled at me.
I had the rare privilege of being able to live in Malaysia, in my youth, for 3 years, 36 years ago.
And while I am sure Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is sincere in his comments, and is well-meaning, all evidence appears contrary to what he is saying, and there is the problem. If there weren't so many murders committed by Muslims who explain and justify their actions by reference to Islamic texts and teachings, maybe Western nations wouldn't have so much trouble grasping this glorious complexity.
We Christians of the 21st Century do our best to denounce the actions of the Crusades of centuries ago, and when fanaticists act up they are swiftly condemned. But we never see that from the Muslim world.

SP4: Well, Mr. Badawi....Sep 28th, 2007 - 16:57:35
...one of the most constructive things you could do is go into the Islamic household and clean it up! Start denouncing these terrorists and then start hunting them. Find them, kill them, incarcerate them.
Go to the UN and get a statement against terror, de-legitimizing it.
Who knows, Mr. Badawi, the life you save might even be your own!
