Oct 6, 2007, 1:42 GMT
Bangkok - Thai police seized 20 tons of chicken feet that had been smuggled in to the country from neighbouring Malaysia, news reports said Saturday.
Police intercepted the contraband delicacies Friday at a checkpoint in the southern province of Pahtthalung. The fowl feet had been packed in plastic bags and stored in a freezer on a 10-wheel truck, the Bangkok Post reported.
Nikom Chumthong, the driver, was arrested and charged with illegally smuggling prohibited products.
Chicken feet are a popular culinary treat at Chinese restaurants.
