Hong Kong - A Hong Kong couple have been arrested after allegedly leaving their five daughters aged one to seven home alone, police said Monday.
Some of the younger sisters were reportedly seen running naked in the corridors and lift lobby of the urban apartment block where the family live in the city of 6.9 million.
Neighbours called police on Saturday evening when the girls were left alone and told officers the children had been repeatedly abandoned by their parents, who live on welfare benefits.
The father and mother, aged 32 and 28, were arrested and held overnight by police while the children were put into temporary care, a police spokesman said. Social workers are investigating the case.
