Jan 3, 2008, 0:58 GMT
Singapore - A 22-year-old student was sentenced to four weeks in jail for shooting video up the skirt of a salesgirl on an escalator, news reports said Thursday.
The woman turned around and caught Goh Yin Rong in the act. She grabbed his shirt and called for help.
Goh was at a subway station on May 18, 2006 when he took the shots with his camera phone, The Straits Times said.
Bystanders helped the victim detain Goh until police arrived.
In sentencing the defendant on Wednesday, District Judge Wong Peck said that Goh had behaved in an anti-social manner and mentioned a surge in such cases in the recent years.
There were 50 cases in 2006 in Singapore, up by 11 compared from the previous year, the newspaper said.
