I congratulate Kosovo too. Because I know they will fight for their independence.

If Taiwan wants independence, they better be willing to fight for it. Many people who support Taiwanese independence want independence, but they aren't willing to fight for it. They just keep talking like 'scholars' and 'academics', but when it comes time to bear arms and to be a TRUE patriot for their country, they chicken out. They claim, 'Ohh...I have a nice job, I can't fight a war for Taiwan, let others do it for me.' or 'Yeah...I'm too important, let the other commoners in Taiwan fight for me. Their deaths aren't useful. I'll just honour them AFTER they die'.

Terrible, really. If you aren't willing to shed blood for your country, then your country doesn't deserve independence. And there's no way you can spin this or claim that this is a lie, because then you'll be lying.

Kosovo controls most if not all the regions coal reserves. Serbia Power Plants are mostly coal fired. This will only derail the fragile economy that is starting to gain some momentum since the war. The EU knows it's just a matter of time before war returns to the region again. This just might be the start of it...........

And so it is.................

'Most of Taiwan people oppose independence'?

It's totally wrong! Most of Taiwan people support independence but worry about China's military!

The law professor at the Chinese Culture University, Lee Fu-tien (李復甸) is also a PFP Legislator. You can tell where his bias lies.
There's been growing population considering themselves as Taiwanese, and various surverys show that the over 50% of the respondents considered themselves Taiwanese.
Same can be said about his comment regarding support for Taiwanese independence.

The relationship between Taiwan and China is far more than complicated than most people can imagine. The KMT (possibly the richest political party in the world) indeed in my view is the obstacle to Taiwan's independence. KMT and its affiliated organizations (Lee, Fu-tien's PFP is one of them) have been using all of their resources to sabotage the work of independence.

In fact, the untruthful comments of the two people (Lee, Fu-tien and Chen, Shun-hu) in this news are examples of how they try to mislead people on what is happening in Taiwan at every chance they can get.

Speaking from an unbiased point of view, I read surveys suggesting that most people in Taiwan oppose independence, because they don't think it's necessary.

In fact, there is a growing sentiment of reunification, because people realize it's for the good of Taiwan's long term health.

I'm anxious to see the survey talking about 'oppose to independence.' Who did that? Who sponsor that? Can anyone show me? Thanks!

I think it's really unfair to say that Taiwan does not want to fight for independence. Imagine, if NATO says it will intervene in case of attack from China, do you think Taiwan will want to declare independence? I think it will overwhelmely Yes! Therefore, to say that Taiwan opposes independence is an absolute false. China is abusing its power by using its millitary might to coerce the people of Taiwan into believing that reunification is a good thing. I hope people of Taiwan won't fall into that trap! If china is sincere, they should first give Taiwan more international space and when the situation is right, reunification can come afterwards. Coersion and blackmail can only increase the mistrust between the two side and it will only make reunification less likely.

The people living in 'Free Zone of Republic of China' (i.e. Taiwan) should follow the dictates of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek: uniting together in the strife for recovering Mainland China from the Reds. The outcome of Chinese Civil War has not been decided yet. Although the Reds took over the Mainland, they can't destroy the Taiwan, the last citadel held by the legitmate government of China. One day the tide will be turned, the Blue Sky White Sun Red Ground flag will once again fly above whole China!

I have been studying Taiwan-China relation for many years. Using simple logic and words, let me say this --

Taiwan has been doing great without China. In recent years, China has been trying to use it new economic and military power to force Taiwan out of international focus but Taiwan is still doing fine. Without China's threat, blackmail, uncivil thinking, and barbarian acts, Taiwan will do even much more better.

Tell me why would people in Taiwan what to get unified with China? All studies show that Taiwan holds the same value system with democratic countries in the world almost like what we have in the USA. All studies show that China is a different kind of country running its own kind of system against democracy, humanity, and religion. Even today, under its glamorous economic growth, China is still struggling with many serious latent problems.

Tell me why would people in Taiwan what to get unified with China? You will always find some people shortsighted falling for China's lies and money but don't insult the intelligence of people in Taiwan.

Do some readings and studies and you will know what I'm talking about.
