"Swirly-face" suspected paedophile appears in Thai court

Bangkok - Canadian national Christopher Paul Neil, a suspected paedophile dubbed 'Swirly face' by the media, appeared for the first time in a Thai court Monday to face charges of child molestation.
The Criminal Court had to postpone the case for three months after Neil, 32, claimed he could not afford a defence lawyer.
The court rescheduled the next hearing for June 2 and promised to provide Neil with a lawyer, said the Thai News Agency (TNA).
Neil was arrested in north-eastern Thailand on October 19 after he was identified in a ground-breaking technology breakthrough by Interpol that allowed police to unswirl his face from a pornographic website where it had been digitally altered.
In Thailand, Neil faces charges of molesting a nine-year-old boy whom he allegedly lured to his Bangkok home in Nakhon Ratchasima province.
