It is unfortunate the U.S. has lost credibility once again by, one on hand, rightly condemning & imposing sanctions over Burma's crackdown on Buddhist monks protesting, but on the other hand, doing barely anything regarding China's similar crackdown on Tibetan monks. No sanctions or call for sanctions, no absolute condemnation. Only a phone-call 'urging' talks, not even a call for restraint. Money Talks.

Bush is a coward. His inaction show his administration's double standard when it comes to China's human right abuse.

Everything that is happening is for a reason... Finally Tibet gets the attention that it cries for in a long time. Respect their battles w/ China.

Oversea Tibetans are pushing all there strength to force government talk with exile leaders. No doubt about that, they did what they could do best.

That may be best chance to talk, since lama knows the status in tibet is slidely silent than CNN guys expectation.

The fact is if leader in exile missed this chance, he may miss it forever.

what does it feel like to be completely ignorant of world politics?

The U.S. should do a lot more to support the Tibetans. The mystic Shangri-la until 1950's was the last paradise in the world. It was miserably destroyed by the Chinese Communists in 1950's. It's now literally in the medieval darkness.

The U.S. Congress should give more financial supports to Dalai Lama. Remember that Dalai Lama and his followers have been working for us
since 1950's. They are fierce and brave fighters for freedom.
They have military experience as well (having received training from the CIA since 1950's and even had a military training camp in Colorado).
We should never abandon a friend who worked for us so diligently.

Chinese Olympic genocide medals dripping with Tibet's blood. Chinese Communist party has the worst human right abuse in world history and we are going to pretend that this is just a difference in politics?

Forget about the UN since China is one of it.

We should build another multinational coalition force led by USA to occupy Tibet as we did for Iraq people.

God Bless America. And God Bless our State Department. We have too many negative thinkers writing comments here, I fear. Our wonderful administration can, in the strongest language, issue a reprimand to the Chinese government. If that falls on deaf ears, then an official chiding can follow. And if that doesn't get the results the American people are looking for, we can exert our muscle and issue an official admonishment 'from the highest level.' (A scolding would be rude, and we can't have that.)

I guess when Bush urged Hu to talk to Dalair Lama, Hu simply urged him to talk to Bin Laden as a reply. Then there was silence on the other end of the line.
