Report: Road safety worker was drunk
Apr 23, 2008, 23:32 GMT
Wellington - A man driving a road safety truck diverting traffic during roadworks on an Auckland motorway was found to be drunk behind the wheel, a newspaper reported Thursday.
The man blew a breath test showing him to have more than twice the legal blood-alcohol limit, after colleagues concerned about his behaviour alerted police, the New Zealand Herald said.
He will appear in court.
Meanwhile, police revealed that a woman killed when she crashed after driving for 10 kilometres in the wrong direction down the same motorway early Wednesday had spent several hours in a city bar.
